God's plans for us reflected through moses

As of recent I’ve started reading through Exodus, which is the story about quite an important Moses. Something I’ve come across that I’ve found really encouraging is that no matter who we are or where we’ve come from, God can use and equip us to further expand His kingdom. Moses is a perfect example of this.

Moses wasn’t raised by his biological parents, in fact, Moses was unconventionally raised by the Pharaoh’s daughter – the very Pharaoh who wanted all male Hebrew babies to be killed. Moses wasn’t born to be a leader, he was hesitant and was merely a shepherd, yet God saw potential in him (Exodus 3). Our past and our present circumstances do not limit Gods ability to work through us.

Moses was also someone who had a disability, he would stutter. He doubted his own ability when called by God (Exodus 4:10). But God assured him, “I will be with you” (Exodus 3:12). God is who equips us with the strength to overcome our insecurities to further advance His kingdom.

Moses also trusted in God’s guidance, following a pillar of cloud during the day and a pillar of fire during the night(Exodus 13:21). We need to be able to go all in and trust that God’s plan for us is a plan the brings fruits to our lives and the lives of those around us.

Finally, Moses trusted in God’s perfect timing. Moses’ preparation for leadership took 40 years. God often uses time to refine and mold us. His timing is perfect, and waiting on Him builds character and trust. Even if you feel that your dreams, or callings aren’t where you want them to be, remember that God’s timing is always perfect.

Moses’ story reminds us that God can use anyone who surrenders to His will, overcomes insecurities, trusts His guidance and embraces His timing.
